Where Movement Begins
FAST Start is our dedicated movement program for 5–6 year olds — designed to build coordination, balance, rhythm and confidence from the very beginning. Through small group sessions and engaging coaching, children develop fundamental movement skills in a supportive, structured environment at the AIS Athletics Track. Because at FAST Running, development isn’t rushed — it’s built.
Who FAST Start is For?
FAST Start is designed for young children who are ready to explore movement in a structured, supportive environment. It’s ideal for
- 5–6 year olds ready for organised, age-appropriate physical activity
- Children who enjoy running, jumping, balancing and active play
- Families looking for small group sizes and individual attention
- Kids building confidence in group settings
- Parents who value quality coaching and long-term development over early competition
FAST Start is not about competition or performance — it’s about building capable, confident movers from the very beginning.
FAST Start provides purposeful, age-appropriate movement sessions designed to build strong foundations from day one.
Each session includes:
- Structured development of fundamental movement skills (run, jump, balance, react, coordinate)
- Small group coaching with high engagement and individual attention
- Confidence-building activities that support social development
- Safe, progressive activities delivered at the AIS Athletics Track
- A positive environment built on encouragement, high-fives and learning through movement
At FAST Running, how you start matters.
Our Development Focus
At ages 5–6, the goal is not performance — it’s movement literacy.
FAST Start builds the physical foundations that underpin all future sport participation: coordination, rhythm, balance, posture and safe force production. We deliberately prioritise movement quality and confidence before introducing structured training or competition.
This is where strong, capable movers are made — ready for the next stage of the FAST pathway.
Program Structure
FAST Start runs in seasonal blocks, blending:
- Group coaching sessions (1–2 per week).
- Warm-ups that teach movement literacy.
- Skill stations + games that reinforce technique.
- Short progress checkpoints to celebrate effort and growth.
Each session is thoughtfully sequenced to challenge kids physically and mentally while keeping engagement high.
