FAST Kids Gear Up for National Stage on Home Turf

FAST Running - FAST Kids

The countdown is on, and excitement is building across the FAST Running community as our youngest athletes begin their preparations for the 2025 School Sport Australia Track & Field Championships, to be held right here in Canberra from 27th November to 1st December.

For the talented youngsters in our FAST Kids program, this national U12 championship offers more than just the chance to race—it represents a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to compete on their home track, surrounded by the energy and support of family, friends, and local fans.

Guided by our experienced and passionate coaching team, our athletes have already launched into a focused training phase designed to balance skill development, fitness, and competition confidence. Every drill, stride, and start is part of a bigger plan—carefully orchestrated to ensure these young athletes are physically and mentally ready to thrive on the national stage.

“This event is more than just a competition,” says Head Coach Steve Dodt. “For many of our FAST Kids, this will be their first experience of elite-level athletics, and we want to make it not only memorable but also a launching pad for future success.”

Training sessions are already humming with the sounds of determination and laughter, as athletes fine-tune their starts, learn to handle the pressure of major meets, and build the camaraderie that defines FAST Running. The squad’s home ground advantage means they’ll enter the competition with a unique sense of confidence and familiarity—knowing every curve, lane, and cheering face in the crowd.

As Canberra welcomes the nation’s best young athletes later this year, FAST Kids will be ready, embodying the FAST Running motto of Running Excellence with every stride.
