Excitement builds for ACT Junior Championships Canberra Sprint Coach, February 7, 2024 The 2024 ACT Junior (U14-U18) Athletics Championships are being held at Woden Park, from 16-18th February. The best talent in Canberra will be on show as athletes chase an Australian Championship qualifier as well as a podium finish. FAST Running will be well represented at the three day event. With Nic, Josh, Daniel, Grace, Mathias, and Siena, all keen to compete for glory and a new Personal Best. Training this week has focussed on competition phase with everyone running high quality repetitions . Nate in particular continues to demonstrate he’s in career best form in the lead up to Nationals. The purchase of new starting blocks by FAST has meant that members don’t have to fight over the ageing equipment on offer at the track any longer. Members can focus on their start and not slipping or injury. There’s been detailed analysis on everyone’s performance out of the blocks which has resulted in slight tweaks that have generated increased power and explosiveness in the first 30m Time trials at training are showing just how much faster each athlete has become this season already There is a Summer Series meet being held this weekend and folk are keen to get some further race practice in before the finals in a week’s time.
