Alumnus: Jordan Green Canberra Running Coach, July 20, 2022February 8, 2024 Jordan Green joined FAST initially as part of his University of Canberra Ginninderra Athletics Club internship. Through the internship, Jordan was looking to gain real-world Sports Performance as well as Strength and Conditioning/Sports Medicine experience. Jordan had a keen interest in learning the various techniques used in the developing of sports coaching and development programs for all athletic levels. Under the guidance of FAST’s Head Coach, Jordan and the other members of the Internship cohort, got to work alongside some of the best coaches in the ACT including Dick Telford (Team Telford) and the athletes in FAST Track and FAST Performance. Jordan obtained his Level 1 Coaching Certification in July 2018 and has been delivering in-school programs. Jordan was invited to present to members of the UC Athletics Academy on Sports Performance. Jordan coached countless hours with UC Ginninderra Athletics Club delivering the On Track program. He also designed and delivered Strength and Conditioning programs to members of FAST Track, including during the difficult period of COVID lockdowns and restrictions, including delivering training via remote/online (Zoom) video sessions. In recognition of Jordan’s efforts above, he was voted the 2018 UC Sports Club Coach of the Year. In addition to Jordan’s coaching, where he actually got his first grounding in Football (Soccer), Jordan found that his speed from playing the beautiful game, as a Back, translated to Sprinting. In three years of sprint training that followed, ending in mid-2022, Jordan had competed at the highest level at both the NSW State Championships and the ACT Track and Field Championships. His performances improved year-on-year, despite pre-existing injuries from Football and the pressures of working full-time. Jordan was supported by FAST as he transitioned from Football to Athletics.
