Being FAST to help Canberra Running Coach, February 19, 2017October 22, 2023 Athletics is a volunteer heavy reliant sport – Coaches, Officials, Administrators, Committees and more. Actively engaging as a volunteer in our sport not only helps athletes, but fosters community and is a lot of fun. You can mix shoulders not only with athletic talent, but also knowledgeable and friendly volunteers, and try out something new or utilise your existing skills in a very practical way. FAST’s Head Coach (pictured) is thrilled to provide assistance and officiate at the 2014 Australian All Schools Championships in Adelaide. A qualified Level 3 Performance Development Coach – Jumps, Steve is happy to get a little closer to the action and jumped at the chance when it presented itself. FAST would like to thank PNG Athletics for acknowledging Steve Dodt’s photo of Toea Wisil as she beat the then current Australian 100m champion and national record holder Melissa Breen on her home ground in Canberra at the ACT Championships (19/02/2017). Taking photos on behalf of Athletics Australia at Performance Meets is just another example where a road may lead you in the sport. FAST actively encourages all our members to help in the Community.
