FAST Running is proud to celebrate the achievements of our very own Frida Schuster, who has just returned from the Australian Cross Country Championships on the Gold Coast (7–10 September 2025). Competing in the Girls 10-Year-Olds 2000m, Frida lined up against nearly 40 of the best young runners in Australia and showed tremendous grit to finish 29th in a very strong field.
It was her first national selection, a milestone that marks just how far Frida has come in a short space of time. From attending a FAST School Holiday Accelerate Clinic, to developing her skills through FAST Kids, and now representing the ACT on the national stage — Frida’s journey is a wonderful reflection of what hard work, courage, and the right environment can achieve.
Conditions on the Gold Coast were warm, and the race presented challenges right from the start, with the field bunching tightly and slowing the early pace. Despite this, Frida never gave in. She kept her composure, battled through the traffic, and crossed the line in 8:42. As her mum proudly shared, the race was tough but it “did not put her off” — a testament to Frida’s determination and positive outlook.
And she’s not done yet. Relays were still to come, and Frida has already set her sights on developing her long jump technique, showing the same curiosity and energy that has carried her from her very first clinic to competing on the national stage.
