Behind every champion athlete there’s a great team Canberra Sprint Coach, February 6, 2024 The athletes of FAST Running have been seeing one of Canberra’s elite Sports Massage Therapists, Garvin Francis, from Florey Massage Therapy, since 2015. Garvin works with elite athletes from the Canberra Raiders, the Australian Cricket team, Canberra United, and sprinters from FAST Running. Garvin is a former Parasport athlete having represented Australia in the Vision Impaired sport of Goalball, having competed at three World Championships. Garvin’s understanding of the sports recovery needs of track and field athletes is unmatched in soft tissue therapy in Canberra. He regularly goes out and beyond in his support for his clients, and this is why FAST Running members have been returning to his services year-on-year. Garvin’s message is simple, “it is Your Life, Your Body, so why not take care of it? Massage Therapy is not a luxury, but an important aspect of your health”. Canberra Sprint Coach, Steve Dodt, takes the information about treatment from Garvin into consideration when assigning training programs to FAST Running athletes. The partnership with Florey Massage Therapy, as well as Paul Imhoff, Physiotherapist, provides the best possible team to support sprinters and hurdlers in Canberra.
