March Forward: Celebrating FAST Females on International Women’s Day

FAST Running - International Women's Day

This International Women’s Day, we celebrate the incredible women of FAST Running who embody the theme of ‘March Forward’—pushing boundaries, breaking barriers, and inspiring future generations to pursue their own journey in athletics. As we mark 30 years since the United Nations’ Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action for gender equality, it’s a reminder that progress in sport, like in life, comes from bold steps, perseverance, and a strong support network.

At FAST Running, our FAST Females program champions women in athletics, providing an environment where female athletes of all ages and abilities can thrive. Whether it’s young sprinters and middle-distance runners, elite competitors, or dedicated masters athletes, our squad is committed to fostering resilience, excellence, and the power of mentorship.

Inspiring Women at FAST Running

Our female athletes continue to pave the way for future generations. Chloe Prstec, with her dedication to the 400m and 800m, sets an example of hard work and determination. Tearia Teaiwa Mortimer, a standout in sprints and hurdles, proves that strength and perseverance lead to success. Their dedication motivates younger athletes to push their limits and chase their dreams.

Meanwhile, junior talents like Lucy Porter and Sophia Gye represent the future of female athletics at FAST. Their commitment, passion, and drive are shaping them into the next generation of role models, proving that the pathway for female success in sport is brighter than ever.

Beyond the track, FAST Running’s women take on leadership and mentorship roles, providing guidance and encouragement to their teammates. Charlotte Rauraa, one of our newest coaches, brings a wealth of expertise and a positive presence to the squad, helping female athletes gain confidence, refine their technical skills, and take charge of their own athletic journey.

A Commitment to Women in Sport

Equality in sport means recognising the unique challenges female athletes face and providing them with the tools, training, and support they need to succeed. At FAST Running, we believe in a holistic approach—backing our women with high-performance coaching, access to expert partners, world-class training facilities, and the right resources to ensure they can excel at every level of competition.

International Women’s Day is more than just a celebration—it’s a commitment to action. The March Forward theme reminds us that progress requires continuous effort, and at FAST, we are dedicated to ensuring our female athletes have every opportunity to reach their full potential.

To all our FAST Females—past, present, and future—your determination, achievements, and support for one another make our squad stronger. Keep striving, keep inspiring, and keep moving forward.

Happy International Women’s Day!
