A 6.6 Second Race. 6.6 Million Views. Athletics Reaching the World

FAST Running - Summer Series

At Capital Athletics’ Summer Series in Canberra last weekend, Japanese sprinter Yoshiki Kinashi exploded down the track to win the 60 m in 6.60 seconds — a dominant display of raw acceleration and speed.

Moments later, a short 6.6-second clip of that race would begin travelling far beyond the stadium. FAST Running, a Canberra-based sprint training and athlete development program, has always believed that athletics should reach beyond the boundaries of the track.

“Speed is a universal language — and sometimes a six-second race can reach the world.”

What happened next was unexpected.

A simple 6.6-second Instagram reel of the race, shared through FAST Running’s social media channels, has now been viewed more than 6.6 million times around the world.

But the story is not just the number.

It’s what it represents.

FAST Running has always believed that athletics should reach beyond the boundaries of the track. Through FAST Media Australia, we actively explore new ways to share the sport with wider audiences — capturing authentic moments of speed, competition and performance and presenting them to a global community. The FAST environment brings together sprinters, field sport athletes and developing competitors within one of Canberra’s most active sprint training communities.

In the same way that athletes train, refine and improve, our digital platforms are constantly evolving. We test ideas, observe what resonates, and continue to develop how athletics can be experienced by people everywhere.

Sometimes the simplest moments tell the best story.

A clean sprint.
A clear winner.
A race decided in seconds.

Increasingly, FAST Running’s digital platforms are connecting local performances in Canberra with a global athletics audience, demonstrating how modern sport can be shared far beyond the stadium.

Speed is a universal language, and the response to this clip demonstrates how powerfully athletics can connect across borders.

Summer Series continues to bring together athletes from Australia and around the world, providing opportunities to compete, develop and experience high-performance environments in Canberra.

And if a six-second race can reach millions, it’s a reminder of something we’ve always believed: running excellence — developed through consistent sprint training in Canberra — deserves to be shared.

FAST Running continues to explore how performance, community and innovation intersect in modern sport. As our athletes push boundaries on the track, we remain equally committed to sharing those moments with the wider sporting community through FAST Media Australia. Organisations interested in supporting athlete development through technology, innovation or strategic partnerships are always welcome to connect with us as we continue building the next chapter of Running Excellence.
