Bright future for upcoming sprint stars

The School Sport ACT Track and Field championships for Under 12s will be held on 17 September at Woden Park and it will feature a number of FAST Running’s up and coming sprint stars, including FAST Female members Lucy, Nelum, Sanjina, and Nique.

Many of these Tween sprint sensations have only been training a short time, but already showed impressive improvement under the guidance of Canberra Sprint and Running Coach, Steve Dodt. Following the completion of the regional championships in the lead up to the ACT final, all four girls are in the top 4 in their respective events with high hopes for finals and medal placings.

With improvement best judged over time, Nelum and Nique have shown that in the space of a year, that their performances have seen them go from the middle of the pack to the top 4 in a single season. Now with the opportunity to train for running through FAST Kids, they can train 2-3 times a week and get the feedback on all their hard-work from their FAST Coach, helping them to prepare for their next big challenge.
