Summer Series: 2 March 2024 Canberra Sprint Coach, March 4, 2024March 4, 2024 The Canberra Track Classic pre-meet at the AIS was just as hot in action as the Chemist Warehouse Classic in the afternoon. FAST Running was well represented by Nicholas Porter and Mathias Lal in the 100m and 200m respectively. Nick has continued his blue vein of form of late with a win in his heat of the 100m, pipping much older competitors and breaking the magic 13s barrier for the first time on his way to a new Personal Best of 12.90s. His time was 0.01s faster than second place. Nick now has secured his second auto qualifying time for Junior Nationals with entries closing on 4 March. Mathias running his first 200m this year has taken a huge 0.5s off his previous best time in the 200m stopping the clock in 24.63s. Mathias has recently transitioned to the 400m and he’s already showing improvement in his speed endurance as illustrated by this stunning performance. Mathias has now run personal bests this season in both of the shorter sprint events. Nick will set his sights on the ACT Under 13 Championship next as he prepares for the Australian Little Athletics Championship in April.
