Brooklyn jumping for joy

FAST Running - Training

FAST Running’s Brooklyn Montana has shown how incredibly talented a jumper he is at the 2024 School Sport ACT 13 years and Over Track and Field Championships at the AIS. Competing for the first time at this level in Triple Jump, Brooklyn finished 4th overall, just 27cm short of a bronze medal. Brooklyn has previously competed at the ACT championships in High Jump (8th) as well. The multi-talented athlete also plays premier league football in Canberra.

Brooklyn was joined at the championships by Mathias and Tearia who both competed in the Long Jump. Tearia had qualified from Regionals in the Triple Jump and High Jump as well but due to conflicts in the programming and clashes with her 100m final she elected to not do all three jump events. FAST Track team mate Simeon Omosigho is another fine long jumper who finished tenth at last year’s Australian All Schools Championships.

All these talented jumpers are mentored by Canberra Jumps Coach, Steve Dodt, who has been coaching long and triple jump for over 20 years. Brooklyn is looking forward to competing this season and seeing where his jumping can land him next.
