FAST Running - Training

The FAST Running squad is proud to announce that four of its athletes have been selected to represent the ACT at the 2025 Australian Athletics Championships in Perth this April. This prestigious event is the pinnacle of national track and field competition, bringing together the country’s best athletes to compete for championship glory.

Our National Representatives

  • Tearia Teaiwa Mortimer (U17 Women): 100m Hurdles
  • Daniel Nwaobi (U17 Men): 100m, 200m, Relay

Selection for this event is no easy feat. Athletes not only had to finish in the top three in their event at the 2024-25 ACT Championships, but also meet a performance standard of at least 90% of the Athletics Australia Entry Standard. Capital Athletics is committed to ensuring its representatives are of a high calibre, selecting athletes who will contribute to the continued success of the ACT on the national stage.

For Olivia and Tearia, this marks their first appearance at the Australian Nationals. Having only entered the sport this season, their rapid progression is a testament to their dedication and the high-performance sprint coaching provided at FAST Running. Their achievements highlight the strength of our squad’s development pathway, which continues to foster emerging talent and guide athletes to success at the highest levels.

We are incredibly proud of Olivia, Thomas, Tearia, and Daniel for earning their spots at Nationals. Their hard work, commitment, and perseverance have paid off, and we look forward to seeing them compete against the nation’s best in Perth.

Stay tuned for updates as they prepare for the championships. FAST Running will continue to support these athletes every step of the way in their pursuit of excellence!
