Preparations are nearly complete for FAST Running’s very own Rose, as she gears up for her debut appearance at the 2025 Australian University Games on the Gold Coast later this month.
Representing the University of Canberra, Rose will take to the track at the Gold Coast Performance Centre from 22–24 April, chasing a long-standing personal goal — breaking the 13-second barrier in the 100 metres.
It’s been a focused lead-up for Rose, with recent training blocks designed to sharpen her top-end speed and race efficiency. Over the weekend, she was supported trackside by fellow UC graduates Kos and Steve, both of whom have donned the university colours in years past and know exactly what it takes to deliver on the big stage. Their presence brought both technical insight and a sense of camaraderie, something Rose said “makes all the difference when you’re pushing for that last one percent.”
This will be her first taste of the Uni Games atmosphere — a unique blend of elite-level competition and student community spirit. But make no mistake, Rose is there to perform.
With the FAST Running motto of “Running Excellence” front of mind, Rose will head north ready to test herself against the best student athletes in the country. Her sprint form has been building steadily, and with the right conditions and focus, the sub-13 goal is well within reach.
