When Brooklyn Montana stepped onto the runway at the 2024 School Sport ACT Track and Field Championships last September, few could have predicted just how quickly the quietly determined athlete would rise through the ranks. Competing in Triple Jump for the first time, Brooklyn finished 4th overall, missing the bronze medal by a mere 27cm—a performance that turned heads and hinted at something special.
Fast forward just six months, and Brooklyn’s name is now etched into the national top 15.
Brooklyn’s journey through the FAST Running development pathway has been nothing short of meteoric. In February, representing Ginninderra at the Capital Athletics Underage Championships, he leapt 11.18m to claim the silver medal 🥈 in the U17 Triple Jump. His blend of power, coordination, and timing—honed through consistent training—was starting to pay off.
But it was at the Australian Nationals this month where Brooklyn truly soared. In his first-ever national appearance, he recorded a personal best of 12.49m, placing him 12th in the country in one of the most competitive Triple Jump age groups in recent years.
All of this has unfolded within just half a year.
Brooklyn’s achievements are even more impressive considering his multi-sport background—he also plays Premier League football in Canberra, showcasing his all-round athleticism and agility. His ability to balance elite-level football with high-performance sprint and jump training is a testament to both his work ethic and his adaptability.
With the foundation now firmly set, Brooklyn’s future in athletics is as exciting as his leaps. From 4th in Canberra to 12th in Australia in under six months—his journey is a powerful example of what’s possible when talent meets opportunity and commitment.
FAST Running is incredibly proud to support Brooklyn on this remarkable path, and we can’t wait to see where his next jump takes him. ✨
