Brendan Pratt — The Heart of FAST Running

FAST Running - Brendan Pratt - Profile

Since December 2018, Brendan Pratt has been a quiet force within FAST Running. A dedicated father of four and a natural-born athlete, Brendan has rarely missed a weekend session—his unwavering commitment only interrupted by the occasional injury. His presence on the track is as dependable as it is uplifting, bringing warmth, wisdom, and a relentless drive to every training session.

As a junior, Brendan showed remarkable promise in both the 100m and Long Jump—disciplines he once competed in during his time in Japan. That early athletic potential never left him. Now a Masters athlete, Brendan still brings the same tenacity to the track. Whether it’s scorching summer heat or Canberra’s biting winter mornings, Brendan shows up, digs deep, and inspires others with his grit and good humour.

With an age grading in the high 80s, Brendan remains a powerhouse—proving that speed doesn’t have to fade with age. He’s not one to back away from FAST Running’s toughest sessions, especially the notorious Canberra hill runs, where he’s built a reputation for resilience and mental toughness.

Beyond performance, Brendan is the kind of athlete every squad dreams of having. He’s generous with his time, knowledge, and support. For many at FAST, Brendan is the rock of the group—always ready with a smile, an encouraging word, or a helping hand. His humility and positivity set the tone for what makes the FAST culture so unique.

While Brendan is content with training for health and camaraderie, the upcoming 2025 Australian Masters Games in October might just tempt him back into competition mode. With teammates like Kos, Marijke, Florence, John, David, Peter, Steve, Jed, Vivian, Scott, and Joanne all gearing up, Brendan could very well lace up the spikes again—this time to represent FAST Running and the ACT on the national stage.

However the next chapter unfolds, Brendan Pratt continues to be an integral part of FAST Running—a steady presence, a fierce athlete, and one of the kindest people you’ll ever meet on the track.
