FAST Running Continues to Build Momentum at Summer Series No. 2

FAST Running athletes continued their outstanding early-season form at Summer Series No. 2, producing a wave of impressive results that reinforced the program’s reputation for consistency, versatility, and performance growth.
After months of focused winter work and standout performances at the ACT Championships and High Noon meets, the squad carried that momentum into Woden Park — with sharp sprints, strong jumps, and steady technical improvement across the board.
Daniel Nwaobi – The Benchmark of Speed
Daniel’s consistency continues to define FAST’s elite sprint group. He clocked 11.08 s in the 100 m and 22.48 s in the 200 m — both among the fastest times of the meet — showing his trademark drive-phase power and clean mechanics. His progression from last summer’s 11.4 / 23.1 form to repeated sub-11.1 and sub-22.6 efforts highlights the squad’s race-readiness ahead of All Schools Nationals later this year.
Sam Blood – Rising to the Challenge
Just behind his training partner, Sam recorded 11.21 s (100 m) and continued to strengthen his position as one of the ACT’s most promising teenage sprinters. His controlled execution and sharp rhythm at max velocity are hallmarks of his FAST Performance block and proof of his growth since the winter season.
Cecilia Ador – A Dual Threat
Cecilia continued her remarkable season with a dominant performance, running 12.67 s in the 100 m and 25.83 s in the 200 m — both big improvements from her pre-season marks. She then produced a confident 10.67 m in the Triple Jump, showing her power, composure, and technical balance across sprint and jump events.
Lewin & Sam Ainsworth – The Brothers’ Blend of Power and Potential
It was a strong meet for the Ainsworth brothers from Gungahlin.
- Lewin ran a sharp 12.13 s for 100 m — impressive speed for a hammer throw specialist who continues to develop his sprint base — proving the value of FAST’s integrated approach to power development.
- Sam, fresh off strong 60 m and 100 m showings (9.17 s / 14.27 s), continues to demonstrate maturity in his movement quality and focus on technical precision, reflecting the benefits of his mixed-sport training model.
Anastasia Peters – Multi-Event Momentum
Anastasia again showed why she’s one of the ACT’s most promising all-rounders, running 8.82 s for the 60 m, 14.29 s for the 100 m, and adding 4.36 m in the Shot Put. Her versatility is quickly becoming her trademark — able to transition seamlessly between sprints and field events while maintaining poise and competitiveness.
Nelum Ganesalingam – Confidence Through Consistency
After a strong showing at Summer Series No. 1, Nelum kept her momentum with 9.58 s (60 m) and 15.49 s (100 m). Her growing speed and technical polish continue to impress as she builds on a year that has already seen her debut at Nationals and achieve major personal bests across the 100 m and 200 m.
Brooklyn Montana – Taking Flight
Brooklyn once again proved his class in the Triple Jump, landing 12.53 m — another high-quality effort from the reigning ACT U15 champion. His ability to produce multiple 12 m+ jumps in consecutive meets reflects not just talent, but discipline and technical maturity developed under the FAST program.
A Season of Growth in Motion
From Daniel and Sam’s sprint rivalry to Cecilia’s multi-event excellence, the FAST Running squad continues to showcase the strength of its athlete-first culture — one built on learning, consistency, and belief.
Each performance at Woden Park was another step in a collective journey toward the national stage — proof that in the FAST system, Running Excellence isn’t just an outcome; it’s a process repeated, refined, and shared.
