On Sunday, our FAST community was fortunate to welcome one of Australia’s very best – Cameron Crombie, Paralympian, two-time World Shot Put Champion, and World Record Holder.
Cam joined us at training to lean in and share his experiences, offering much more than technical tips on throwing. He brought a wealth of high-performance knowledge and a generous spirit, helping to shape the journey not just of our growing group of throwers and combined events athletes, but of the entire FAST squad.
At FAST, we believe in the power of athletes helping athletes. Cam’s presence reminded us that true performance comes from community and connection – when those with experience share with those still learning, everyone grows. Our younger athletes listened intently, our coaches sharpened their own perspectives, and the squad as a whole felt the lift of training alongside someone who has stood on the world stage.
Moments like these reinforce what FAST is all about:
- Community – we build each other up.
- Sharing – knowledge flows both ways, from elite champions to emerging juniors.
- Coach Development – every conversation makes us better at guiding the next generation.
- Inspiration – the impact of a world-class athlete like Cam extends well beyond the throwing circle.
We thank Cam for giving his time and energy to our athletes. His insights will echo through future sessions and competitions, reminding us all that “Running Excellence” is built on more than just results – it’s about lifting each other higher.
