Canberra Chill (Hockey One) 2025 | FAST Running – FAST Performance
FAST Running is thrilled to celebrate Tess Palubiski, named in the 2025 Canberra Chill squad for the Hockey One League. Loud, bold and fast—Tess brings exactly that energy. She’s a dual-sport competitor with deep roots in athletics and a serious hockey résumé, and she embodies the FAST ethos: speed, skill, and relentless growth.
A dual-sport engine
Before the hockey spotlight, Tess cut her teeth on the track in Victoria—speed-endurance, race craft, and competitive grit built over years of 400–800 m racing. That athletic base now powers her hockey acceleration, repeat efforts, and late-game closing speed.

Hockey One: the stage
The Hockey One League evolved from the Australian Hockey League and runs as a home-and-away, eight-week national competition—designed for maximum exposure between the winter and summer seasons. All Canberra Chill home and away fixtures are played at elite venues around the country, with matches broadcast live on 7Plus. It’s fast, it’s noisy, and it’s built for athletes like Tess.
Why Tess fits FAST
- Acceleration & max-velocity from her sprint background translate directly to line breaks and press triggers.
- Speed endurance from 400–800 m racing underpins repeat sprints across four quarters.
- Technical resilience from hurdling and middle-distance training shows up in balance, posture, and late-phase decision-making.
Summer reset: back to sprinting
Between hockey commitments, Tess is keen to return to sprinting this summer—a focused block to sharpen her start, max-velocity mechanics, and 150–300 m speed endurance. Expect track sessions targeting acceleration (0–30 m), flying 20s/30s, and 2–3× split 300s, supported by gym work (force-dominant quarter squats, posterior chain, trunk stiffness) that complements hockey’s in-season loads.
