August Time Trials Canberra Running Coach, August 20, 2024August 20, 2024 Saturday’s time trials were the perfect preseason workout for the squad as they look to see how things are shaping up after a gruelling winter period in Canberra. With a focus on race preparations and less on overall time, the squad regulars did enjoy a new Personal Best each in their 100m, 200m and 400m performances. The 400m was held in very gusty conditions with a 2.0+ headwind in the back straight, making Vish, Mathias, Tylan, and Isabel have to work especially hard. It was Vish who took line honours as he crossed the finish line only 0.05s off his 400m PB. Tylan, Mathias and Isi also set new PBs in their first 400m race of the new season. The 100m saw the return of Vivian to shake up the home straight with he, Dom and Daniel battling it out. It was Daniel who took the lead from the start of the race and he was in front of Commonwealth Games’ athlete Vivian and ACT Representative Dom, Vivian prevailed in the end by the slimmest of margins. despite this, it was both Dom’s and Daniel’s fastest 100m times ever. The 200m was held 20 minutes after the 100m, and the athletes neatly backed up to record back to back fast times. Everyone ran superbly well, including our 800m specialist Jaimi-Lee, who ran a PB for her 200m time. FAST Track News Performance BelconnenResults
