FAST Running at the 2024/25 Capital Athletics Relay Carnival Canberra Sprint Coach, November 25, 2024November 25, 2024 A Weekend Full of Running Excellence FAST Running wrapped up a dynamic and action-packed weekend with the 2024/25 Capital Athletics Relay Carnival, held on Sunday, November 24th, at Woden Park Athletics Track. The event was an exciting culmination of a weekend that showcased the energy, commitment, and versatility of our squad. Over the weekend, our athletes balanced training at the University of Canberra, an end-of-year celebration at Black Mountain Peninsula, block starts at the AIS, and the relay championships. This packed schedule highlights the dedication of our members and the breadth of opportunities within the FAST Running community. At the Relay Carnival, seven of our squad members, preparing to represent the ACT at the All School Nationals in Brisbane, competed with their ACT relay teams. The carnival provided them with invaluable race-day practice in a competitive environment, sharpening their skills and fostering team camaraderie. Building Momentum Toward Nationals The Relay Carnival wasn’t just about competition; it was an opportunity for our athletes to refine their transitions, build trust with teammates, and perform under pressure—key components for their upcoming national campaign. The vibrant atmosphere at Woden Park, paired with the squad’s enthusiastic support for one another, perfectly embodied the FAST Running spirit of collaboration and excellence. A Glimpse into the Weekend From fine-tuning technique during block starts at the AIS to celebrating community achievements at Black Mountain Peninsula, this weekend exemplified the diversity of experiences that FAST Running offers. Each activity reinforced our commitment to not only athletic performance but also fostering an inclusive and supportive community. Accompanying this story are snapshots capturing the highs of the weekend: the intensity of relay baton exchanges, moments of camaraderie at the track, and celebrations that brought athletes and families together. We’re incredibly proud of our athletes for their efforts and look forward to seeing them shine at the All School Nationals. A special thanks to everyone who supported the squad this weekend—your encouragement fuels our running excellence. Stay tuned as we continue the journey to Nationals and beyond!
