Sue stuns to win the Presidents Gift Canberra Sprint Coach, January 29, 2024February 7, 2024 The ACTMA 30th Presidents Gift 100m handicap race has been taken out by FAST Running’s very own Sue Bourke. Sue who has competed in 19 women’s finals, the most of any member in ACTMA, surges mid race to win her 12th Gift Final, again a record for ACT Masters Athlete. Sue’s win is her first since 2020. The 12-time champion has battled injury and surgery recovery in the intervening years. But stunned onlookers as she picked up where she left off in 2020 with a dominant performance on the track. Sue is hoping her comeback will inspire the younger generation in FAST Females, especially Florence, Marijke and Phoebe to give The Gift a go themselves in this year’s final in December. FAST may pick up a podium clean sweep! Brendan and Steve are already reading themselves for a dash in 2024 too in the men’s final, with John Lamb the reigning champion hard to beat!
