High tech tools for the digital Sprinter Canberra Sprint Coach, February 7, 2024May 7, 2024 Increasingly elite athletes are being subjected to decisions backed by data. The outcome could be if they are selected to compete or made to watch from the fence. FAST Running employs high tech tools from Catapult, FreeLap, JAWKU, Junsd, Canon, Apple, Google, and more to empower the athlete. Data driven training provides real-time metrics on velocity, power, reaction, and time, allowing for individual adjustments, precise programming, and long-term data tracking—a significant advantage for athletes and their performance. Performances are entered into FAST Results 2.0, the secure SaaS athlete information management system, built for athletes by athletes. Canberra Sprint Coach, Steve Dodt, works with athletes on analysing their data and pin pointing focus areas to improve their performance. Improvements are tracked over time and with instant feedback on races and training outcomes in FAST Results. Athletes can use the system to keep a training diary that they can maintain on their smart phone, tablet or PC. FAST members not only can see their metrics, but add their thoughts, and feelings about every training session or performance. The diary is a valuable tool for ensuring athletes are very present with where they are in both their mind and body before and after a training session. It also enables them and their FAST Running Coaches to observe patterns and reflect upon their achievements.
