Every sprinter has a moment where they realize they belong. For Sam Blood, that moment came in September 2024 at the ACT 13 & Over Track & Field Championships, when he stormed down the track in the 100m final, placing 8th in 12.34 seconds. The winner that day? FAST’s own Daniel Nwaobi—a name Sam now calls a training partner.
Just a few months later, Sam was back on the AIS track at the annual Associated Southern Colleges (ASC) Competition, representing Daramalan College with pride. This time, he landed on the podium, finishing 3rd in the 100m, proving he was just getting started.
Joining FAST Running in March 2025, Sam has wasted no time making his mark. Training alongside some of the ACT’s brightest young sprinters—including Daniel, Oliver, Mathias, Vishaal, Tom, Lewin, Nick, and Seth—he’s been pushing himself further, faster, every session.
With the 2025 ACT Championships on the horizon, Sam has his sights set on earning a spot at All Schools Nationals in December. With his relentless work ethic and the backing of his FAST teammates, there’s no doubt he’s a name to watch.
