At FAST Running, we are proud to celebrate the achievements and contributions of our coaching team, and few embody the spirit of Running Excellence more than Nate Halpin.
A valued member of the FAST squad since the 2016/2017 season, Nate brings not only championship credentials but also a deep understanding of the athlete journey – particularly for those navigating sport with a disability. As a T01 para athlete, Nate has excelled nationally, holding Australian records and winning multiple Australian Championships in sprints, throws, and long jump.
Currently studying at the University of Canberra, Nate balances academic pursuits with a strong commitment to the squad. He’s a consistent presence at FAST Running sessions – attending running, strength, mobility, and even social events – bringing energy, insight, and lived experience to the track.
What sets Nate apart is his ability to connect with athletes across all levels – from elite sprinters to developing para athletes and young beginners. His coaching delivery is clear, encouraging, and grounded in his own performance journey, making his feedback both relatable and practical.
Whether it’s cueing technique during an acceleration drill, mentoring athletes through a tough session, or simply offering encouragement during competition season, Nate is a steady and trusted figure in the FAST community.
Having competed across the country at the highest level, Nate brings invaluable perspective to our coaching team – helping shape athletes not just into stronger competitors, but more confident people.
We’re incredibly proud to have Nate as part of our team and look forward to continuing to grow alongside him as both an athlete and coach.
