Frida Schuster has just booked her place on the national stage! Selected to represent the ACT at the School Sport Australia National Cross Country Championships, Frida will toe the line in the Girls 10-Year-Olds 2000 Metre event this September on the Gold Coast (7–10 Sept 2025). This marks her first national selection — and a significant milestone in what is already shaping up to be a very promising athletic journey.
Frida’s story is one of steady, committed progress. Since last year’s ACT Championships, she has shaved a remarkable 15 seconds per kilometre off her pace — improving from 4:20/km to 4:05/km. That kind of development doesn’t happen by accident. It’s the product of consistent effort, excellent coaching, and a genuine love for running.
Under the guidance of Coach Tearia in the FAST Kids program, Frida has been learning the foundations of running movement — coordination, rhythm, agility — all delivered in a fun and supportive environment. On top of her regular sessions, Frida has been clocking the “extra homework” assigned by Coach Steve, showing maturity and drive well beyond her years.
Frida also participates in FAST’s Accelerate Program, designed for talented young runners ready to take their training to the next level. Her selection for Nationals is proof that these two programs — FAST Kids and Accelerate — can work together as a powerful launch pad for future success.
As we head towards September, the team will work closely with Frida to ensure she arrives on the Gold Coast feeling strong, confident, and race-ready. There’s still time to fine-tune and give her a little more spark ahead of her national debut — and that’s exactly what we plan to do.
At FAST Running, we talk a lot about “Running Excellence.” For Frida, excellence looks like joy in the work, steady progress, and now — the pride of representing her state. We can’t wait to see her take on the challenge in Queensland.
Go Frida!
