FAST Running Opens the Summer Season with Momentum

Summer Series No. 1 – AIS Athletics Track | 25 October 2025

The first meet of the 2025/26 Summer Series marked a confident start for FAST Running athletes, with standout performances across sprints, middle distance, and throws. Following an exceptional winter season and a strong lead-up to Nationals, the squad carried their form and focus into the new campaign with impressive results at the AIS Track.

Sam Blood – Speed on Display

After a breakout winter highlighted by personal bests in both the 100 m and 200 m, Sam opened his summer with another sharp showing — clocking 11.09 s for 100 m and 22.90 s for 200 m. His performances underline the consistency and composure that have become hallmarks of his training.

Nelum Ganesalingam – Rising FAST

One of FAST’s youngest 12 & Under Nationals representatives, Nelum continued her steady improvement with 15.38 s in the 100 m and 32.51 s in the 200 m. Having developed remarkable race confidence through the winter, her smooth sprint rhythm and relaxed top-end speed again stood out in this early-season meet.

Tom Madigan – Back with Purpose

Tom opened his season with a strong 53.71 s in the 400 m — a time that reinforces the steady progress he made through the High Noon Series. Known for his competitive edge and strong finishing speed, Tom’s ability to produce consistent sub-54s performances highlights the squad’s emphasis on endurance and efficiency.

The Schuster Siblings – Strength in Diversity

The Schuster family made a powerful return to competition, each showing strength in different areas of the track.

  • Frida Schuster ran 15.50 s (100 m)32.94 s (200 m), and 1:16.27 (400 m) — proving her developing versatility across sprint distances.
  • Bruno Schuster, meanwhile, dominated the middle-distance events with a double win: 2:47.12 (800 m) and 10:14.45 (1500 m Race Walk), showcasing his range and determination.

Their balanced approach to training continues to illustrate the depth and adaptability of FAST’s junior athletes.

Lewin Ainsworth – Precision in the Circle

In the field, Lewin Ainsworth maintained his impressive form in the Hammer Throw, producing 36.26 m — another consistent mark following his series of strong performances through winter. His control, timing, and rhythm are improving each meet, setting him up perfectly for a big summer campaign.

Building on a Year of Growth

This first round of the Summer Series was more than just an opening meet — it was a statement of the momentum FAST Running carries into the new season. From 100 m sprinters to hammer throwers, the early signs show a squad united in purpose, built on consistency, and driven by a culture of Running Excellence.
