Mates against mates. FAST friends always.
From FAST Kids to FAST Performance, the track at Woden Park came alive as our athletes took centre stage at the Capital Athletics 2025 Relay Carnival — a celebration of connection, competition, and community that brought the entire squad together.
Across the day, FAST athletes of all ages and levels ran side by side — sometimes even against one another — in a spirit that perfectly captured what Running Excellence is all about. There were plenty of laughs between baton changes, close finishes, and proud moments shared across lanes.
It wasn’t just about racing; it was about showing up, supporting one another, and being part of something bigger than yourself.
Clubs United, One FAST Family
What made the carnival truly special was seeing athletes proudly representing their local ACT clubs, yet still united under the FAST Running banner. From grassroots Little Athletics teams to senior club squads, FAST continues to support local competition from the beginning to the championships — proving that when our athletes succeed, so does the entire ACT athletics community.
As Head Coach Steve Dodt puts it:
“FAST isn’t a club in isolation — it’s a family of athletes from every corner of Canberra. We celebrate every club, every lane, and every athlete who chooses to show up and give their best.”
Records, Medals, and Memories
There was no shortage of standout performances, with FAST athletes contributing to three new ACT Records, a haul of medals, and a display of talent that stretched from our youngest relay runners through to our elite performers.

- U13 Boys 4 x 200m ACT Record by 2 seconds
- U15-17 Boys 4 x 100m ACT Record
But just as importantly, there was laughter, teamwork, and a shared pride in one another’s success — proof that the FAST culture continues to thrive where it matters most: on the track and in the friendships built along the way.

At FAST, Running Excellence means more than a stopwatch — it means being there for your teammates, your training partners, and your community.
From first-time competitors to national representatives, every baton pass at the Relay Carnival showed why FAST Running is more than a squad — it’s a movement built on support, connection, and shared passion.
