AIS Precision: Chasing the Final 5% with FAST Running

FAST Running - Training

At FAST Running, we don’t just train — we refine.

Last week, our squad returned to the world-class facilities at the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) for a technical session focused on movement quality, rhythm, and precision. This wasn’t about how fast you could go — it was about how well you could move.

Because the truth is, every sprinter can run — but the champions? They master the details.

We don’t just practice execution. We perfect it.
Each technical session is designed to unlock that crucial last 5% — the small but mighty gap between good and great. It’s the posture at max velocity, the shoulder tension you let go of, the contact time you shave off in your first steps.

For athletes chasing running excellence, especially those in their teens stepping up to higher levels of competition, this is where the real gains are made. The physical work lays the foundation — but the technical work? That’s what takes you beyond.

Under the eyes of our experienced coaching team, athletes were guided through drill sequences, block starts, transition mechanics, and movement efficiency corrections. Every rep had a reason. Every cue had a purpose. Every moment was a chance to sharpen what matters most.

“When the pressure hits on race day,” said Head Coach Steve Dodt, “it’s not talent that gets you through — it’s preparation. It’s trusting that you’ve put in the work to own your technique.”

These sessions aren’t just for today’s performance. They’re an investment in race day confidence, in injury resilience, and in becoming the kind of athlete who doesn’t leave anything to chance.

At FAST Running, performance has no ceiling — and neither does preparation.
