Running is a team sport Canberra Running Coach, October 22, 2023February 7, 2024 Members of FAST are warming up together as part of a team. For Daisy Nwaobi, playing on a basketball court, she’s familiar with team sports. The warm up drills for sprinting are a little unfamiliar to Daisy. But three sessions down, Daisy is picking up the basics FAST. Daisy’s new team at FAST are very supportive. Individuals in the team demonstrate the drills, whilst FAST’s Head Coach explains the movements and the rationale behind it. Daisy sees sprinting as an opportunity to improve her performance on the court as well as looking to see if she can pursue running as her sport. With no previous running experience, Daisy is being guided at her level (training age) and encouraged, especially with more complex sprint skills that follow this warm up drill. Daisy says she’s “really enjoying” the atmosphere and is hoping to dedicate more time to running soon. For the moment, Daisy is a multi-sport athlete who spends her time between basketball and running. If Daisy’s eagerness to learn is any guide, training with FAST will make the decision harder for her in the future. FAST for Sport News FAST FemalesGinninderra AthleticsProfileWoden Athletics
