Strength in Struggle: Why FAST Performance Goes Beyond the Track

FAST Running - Strength and Mobility training sessions

Post-session silence. Athletes lying on their backs, gasping, sweat pooling on the floor. That was the scene at a recent FAST Running strength and mobility session, where the squad had just completed a punishing round of supersets targeting core control and neuromuscular coordination.

It wasn’t about lifting heavy — it was about lifting smart.

Every movement had purpose: holding posture under fatigue, maintaining form under pressure, and building sprint-specific strength that translates when it matters most — on the start line.

At FAST, we believe that performance knows no limits — and neither should preparation or support. That’s why our FAST Performance program goes beyond the track. Sprinting fast is the product of hundreds of choices made off it: how you move, how you recover, how you activate the right muscles at the right time.

“Anyone can run when they’re fresh,” says Head Coach Steve Dodt. “But sprinting under fatigue — while holding technique — that’s a different beast. That’s what we train for.”

Our strength and mobility sessions are tailored by expert coaches to match the demands of the training phase and competition schedule. Athletes are supported with:

  • Technique-driven core development (think anti-rotation, anti-flexion, and pelvic control)
  • Sprint-specific supersets for force production and movement coordination
  • Mobility protocols to reduce injury risk and improve range of motion

These sessions are not about aesthetics — they’re about performance durability.

Because medals aren’t just won on race day. They’re won in the quiet moments after a brutal set, when the body wants to stop but the athlete chooses to keep going. That’s the FAST standard – Running Excellence.

FAST Performance. FAST Support. FAST Results.
