FAST turns 30 Canberra Sprint Coach, December 23, 2023January 9, 2024 In 2024, FAST Running celebrates its 30th birthday. From humble beginnings in the heat of the Northern Territory. FAST has continued its innovative and highly successful training program for athletes of all ages and levels in the Capital Territory for the past three decades. This season’s cohort in FAST Running, have shown that they are among the most promising sprinters to have trained with legendary and award winning Canberra Sprint Coach, Steve Dodt. Canberra’s largest sprint squad for Masters aged runners, Phoebe, Marijke, Sue, Florence, Brendan, Kos and Steve, are showing what can be achieved as a FASTER Master. FAST Running understands the needs of older runners and has the experience to bring out their best. Following quickly in their footsteps are Siena, Grace, Sophie, Georgia. Daisy, Ava, and Jaime-Lee who are proudly part of the FAST Female program. These amazing young sprinters are hoping to make their own slice of history as their FAST predecessors Chelsea, Natasha and Sue before them in winning national medals. Commonwealth Games sprinter Vivian Williams has taken the FAST Track lads under his wing offering Daniel, Joshua, Mathias, Nick, Vish, Zach, Conor, Mika, Tom, Ty and Cynan top level experience in men’s sprinting. With a string of top performances this season already and a finalist at All Schools in the 200m in December, the future is looking very bright in the blue ribbon event for FAST Males and Females this season. FAST Performance athlete Nate Halpin is looking to turn his good form into a medal at the Australian Open championships in April. Nate who is already a two time para (T01) National Record holder in the 100m, is studying at the University of Canberra and is hoping to follow Craig, Vivian, Muhammad. and Steve in racing the Open Men 100m and 200m in April. FAST Running are very excited to be working with so many wonderful athletes and looking forward to seeing them compete at their best to help us celebrate our 30th birthday in 2024.
