At FAST Running, we pride ourselves on achieving excellence across all disciplines of athletics, from sprints to middle distance and hurdles. Our squad recently delivered outstanding performances at the Capital Athletics Underage Championships, showcasing depth across all age groups. Additionally, our seasoned athletes continue to set new benchmarks, with David O’Keeffe securing gold in the Men’s 60 Years 1500m at the NSW Masters Championships, clocking an impressive 5:15—a personal best!

Exceptional Middle-Distance Success

FAST Running’s commitment to developing well-rounded athletes was evident in the squad’s middle-distance results at the Capital Athletics Underage Championships. Highlights include:

  • Chloe Prstec (U15) dominated the 1500m, taking gold in 5:03.59, while also securing silver in the 800m (2:18.38)and 400m.
  • Thomas Madigan (U16) showcased his endurance and versatility with gold in the 800m (2:12.11) and 400m (53.54s), along with victories in the 200m hurdles.
  • Blake Murray Smith (U9) battled through a competitive field to secure silver in the 800m (2:56.66).
  • Sophia Gye (U9) impressed with a third-place finish in the 800m (3:24.45) and also claimed gold in the 700m race walk.
  • Lucinda Christian (U10) placed 4th in the 800m (3:02.06), demonstrating her growing endurance.

These results highlight FAST Running’s ability to develop middle-distance runners alongside our sprint and hurdle specialists.

Sprinting and Hurdling Strength

Our sprinters and hurdlers continue to showcase their speed and technical ability:

  • Olivia Jose (U15) stormed to victory in the 100m (12.65s), reaffirming her status as a top sprinter.
  • Daniel Nwaobi (U17) took home gold in the 100m (11.43s) and 200m (23.18s), displaying top-tier speed.
  • Faria Pasha (U15) dominated the 200m hurdles (34.52s) and won the 200m sprint, with silver in the 100m.
  • Thivain Hasvi Ariyadasa (U11) clinched gold in the 80m hurdles (15.70s) and added podium finishes in the 200m and high jump.
