FAST Running Takes the Lead – Aranda Becomes Our Training Track

FAST Running - Training

When the AIS track was closed over the weekend to host the Australian 24 Hour Track Invitational, FAST Running didn’t skip a beat. Instead, we packed up, adapted, and moved our session straight into the heart of the community—bringing elite speed and athleticism to the quiet ovals of Aranda.

Residents out walking their dogs or sipping their morning coffee were treated to the sight of our squad in action: fast feet, sharp drills, and the unmistakable energy that defines FAST Running. While some might see a change of location as an obstacle, for us it’s an opportunity.

Putting Athletes First—Always

At the core of everything we do is an athlete-first philosophy. That means tailoring our approach to what our athletes need—not just what’s convenient. Over winter, that often includes seeking out softer surfaces that are gentler on the body, helping prevent overload while still maintaining intensity and intent. The Aranda Oval proved perfect for this purpose—lush, forgiving, and surrounded by the calm of native bushland.

Fresh Locations. Fresh Mindset.

Our training isn’t confined to lanes and walls. We believe variety drives engagement and keeps the training experience fresh. Whether it’s lakeside hills, suburban parks, or a quiet community oval like Aranda, each location adds something different to the session. This adaptability is part of what sets FAST apart—it ensures every athlete, from emerging juniors to international competitors, gets what they need to thrive.

Sport in the Community

Moments like these remind us that athletics doesn’t just belong inside stadiums—it belongs everywhere. By bringing our squad into the community, we help raise the profile of the sport and inspire the next generation of runners who might just be watching from their backyard fence.
