Elite level perspective Canberra Sprint Coach, October 2, 2024October 2, 2024 Canberra Sprint Coach, Steve Dodt, has recently joined an exclusive group of coaches who are learning directly from Dan Pfaff at ALTIS. The focus of this particular journey with Dan is to master movement analysis and refine the coaching eye. This select program will see members of FAST Performance provided a structured approach that will transform their movement analysis, injury management, and return-to-play strategies, through a holistic, science-based approach to coaching and athlete development, honed by world-class coaches like Dan Pfaff and Stu McMillan, who have extensive experience coaching elite athletes. Dan Pfaff has tutored 49 Olympians including nine medalists, 51 World Championship competitors (also nine medalists), and five world-record holders. He has directed athletes to 57 national records across a multitude of events. This group includes Donovan Bailey—The 1996 Atlanta Olympic Gold Medalist in the 100m; As well as Bruny Surin and Glenroy Gilbert—who teamed with Bailey to win the 4 × 100m relay in Atlanta ; Greg Rutherford who won the London 2012 Olympics in the men’s long jump, Andre De Grasse a multiple Olympic medalist in the 100m, 200m, and 4x100m relay, including gold in the 200m at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, and Obadele Thompson (Barbados) – Olympic bronze medalist in the 100 meters at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. Steve Dodt, the award winning and innovative thinker behind Canberra’s most successful and enduring athletics programs, is excited to work along side Dan and provide continued elite level guidance to Canberra’s fastest athletes. Steve has coached many National Medalists and Finalists, including Australian representatives Matt Walters and Sue Bourke, and Commonwealth Games 100m and 200m sprinter Vivian Williams from Sierra Leon, and Australian National Record Holder Nate Halpin (T01 U18 and U20 200m).
