One of the newest faces in our FAST Track development program, Will Heritage is already making his mark—and we’re only just getting started.
Joining the squad on 6 April, Will wasted no time settling into the rhythm of structured sprint training. Fresh off a big performance at his school athletics carnival, he arrived with confidence, talent, and a hunger to keep improving. With first-place finishes across multiple events, including age champion for the 400m and a slick 11.84s in the 100m, Will is showing the kind of range and potential we love to work with.
He’s also not afraid of the long game—literally. Podium finishes in both the 800m and 1500m revealed a depth of endurance that will be explored and developed through winter training, as we work on refining his technique and helping him unlock even more speed and strength.
It hasn’t just been about results, though. Will’s made a strong social connection with his sprinting peers Lewin, Tom, Seth, Sam, and Daniel, adding to the squad’s energy and showing great attitude at every session.
With the Zone Carnival coming up next term, Will’s already set his sights on qualifying for the ACT Schools Regional Championships, and if his current trajectory is anything to go by, he’s right on track to run finals at the ACT Schools Championships in September.
