2025 Australian Athletics Championships Wrap-up

FAST Running - Nationals - Perth

The 2025 Australian Athletics Championships saw five FAST Running athletes take to the track and field with grit, determination, and personal best performances—marking a major milestone in our squad’s journey of sprinting excellence.

🇦🇺 First Nationals, Big Moments

For Oliver FBrooklyn Montana, and Tearia Teaiwa Mortimer, this year marked their debut at the national level. All three only began training with FAST Running this season—and their rapid rise to elite competition is a powerful reflection of their dedication and the strength of our development pathway.

  • Oliver F (U16B) launched his Nationals campaign with a PB of 11.97s in the 100m, placing 9th in his heat—an outstanding performance from the talented young sprinter.
  • Brooklyn Montana (U17M) soared to a personal best of 12.49m in the Triple Jump, placing 12th in a highly competitive field.
  • Tearia Teaiwa Mortimer (U17W) clocked a PB of 16.48s in the 100m Hurdles, finishing just outside the finals in 9th place in her heat.

These performances are just the beginning of what promises to be an exciting journey for each of them.

🔥 Personal Bests and Finals for Our Sprint Squad

FAST veteran Daniel Nwaobi (U17M) showcased his trademark speed and composure:

  • 100m Heat: 11.09s (PB) – placing 5th in his heat and 10th overall in the country.
  • 200m Heat: 23.01s, advancing to the final where he placed 7th in 23.11s, capping off a strong campaign.

Meanwhile, Tom Madigan (U16M) demonstrated impressive range and competitive courage across multiple events:

  • 200m: 24.86s in the heat
  • 400m: 54.09s in the heat
  • 800m: 2:06.02 (PB) – finishing 7th in his heat and 14th overall nationally, marking a huge step forward in his middle-distance development.
