At FAST Running, excellence is built from the ground up — and that includes strength, power, and explosive mechanics. That’s why we’re proud to have Coach Ahmed AbdelAzim leading our FAST Performance athletes through an advanced strength and conditioning program, incorporating Olympic lift variations to help them unlock their full sprinting potential.
With a background in both athletics and lifting, Ahmed brings a unique combination of knowledge and experience to our team. Holding credentials as an ASCA Level 1 Strength & Conditioning Coach, Athletics Australia Level 1 Recreational Running Coach, and Level 1 Youth Coach, he knows how to blend technical proficiency with sprint-specific application.
“Everything we do in the gym has to transfer to the track,” says Ahmed. “Olympic lifts like cleans and snatches — when taught progressively and correctly — develop key sprint qualities like rate of force development, coordination, and explosiveness.”
Working closely with a select group of FAST Performance athletes, Ahmed’s sessions focus on:
- Technical breakdown of Olympic lifting movements
- Mobility and positioning for sprint-specific transfer
- Load progression based on maturity and training age
- Integration with track-phase programming
These sessions don’t just build stronger athletes — they build more efficient, resilient, and explosive sprinters, equipped with the physical tools to compete at their peak.
As we head into the winter training block, the work being done in the gym under Ahmed’s expert guidance will set the tone for powerful performances when race season arrives.
