The 2025 Winter Series kicked off at the AIS over the weekend, with FAST Running athletes stepping onto the track and into the field for their first hit-out of the season. Despite the cool Canberra winter air and a light breeze swirling around the stadium, our squad delivered strong early-season performances across sprints, jumps, throws, and hurdles.
Long Jump
- Marcus Helgstedt (M71) landed a best of 4.93m, showing sharp form off the board.
- Tindra Helgstedt (W13) reached 3.76m, building consistency for the season ahead.
- Lennox de Moura (M12) impressed with 4.82m, only a few centimetres shy of his seed distance.
100m
- Lennox de Moura clocked 13.75 (0.1 wind), an excellent start to his sprint season.
- Marcus Helgstedt followed closely in 13.92, keeping the veteran legs firing.
- Tindra Helgstedt ran 16.23, laying down a solid early marker for her age group.
200m
- Lennox de Moura continued his all-round campaign, running 27.84 (0.5 wind).
- Tindra Helgstedt produced a strong finish down the home straight to cross in 33.48.
- Nel Ganesalingam (W15) opened her season with 33.96, adding depth to the FAST sprint group.
400m
- Showing range and stamina, Lennox de Moura covered the full lap in 1:02.21, a promising run this early in the season.
90m Hurdles
- Into a headwind (-1.8), Lennox de Moura attacked the barriers to claim the win in 15.65, highlighting his versatility and competitive spirit.
Shot Put
- Lennox de Moura powered the shot out to 10.03m, cracking the 10-metre mark for the first time this season.
- Tindra Helgstedt also impressed with a best of 5.74m, continuing to build her throws base alongside her jumps and sprints.
