The 2025 ACT Schools Track & Field Championships at Woden Athletics Track proved once again that FAST Running athletes are building a legacy of excellence — not just in one event, but across the full spectrum of sprints and jumps.
From blistering 100m performances to big leaps on the runway, our squad turned the track into a showcase of what structured training, belief, and commitment can deliver.
Sprinting to Success
- Daniel Nwaobi continued his rise as one of the ACT’s premier young sprinters, powering to gold in both the 100m (10.88s) and 200m (22.59s).
- Training partner Sam Blood pushed him all the way, finishing second in the 100m with a PB of 11.21s — a huge improvement from 12.34s this time last year.
- Olivia Jose confirmed her speed is building perfectly, taking gold in the 100m (12.85s) and silver in the 200m (27.34s).
- Cecilia broke through barriers with silver in 12.67s in the 100m and 26.48s in the 200m, both personal bests and her first times under the key 13s and 27s marks.
Versatility Across Events
- Lewin Ainsworth showed his range, with gold in the 200m (24.56s), bronze in the 400m (59.48s) and bronze in the 100m (12.21s).
- Tom Madigan capped off a strong campaign with gold in the 400m (54.86s) and bronze in the 200m (24.27s).
- Siena and Tearia held their own in stacked sprint fields, Siena claiming silver in the 100m (12.90s) and bronze in the 200m (27.36s), while Tearia clocked 13.51s for 6th in the 100m.
- Oliver F continued his steady progress with 12.43s in his 100m heat, finishing 12th overall.
Power on the Runway
- Seth impressed with gold in the Long Jump (4.63m), while also competing in the 100m and 200m with times of 13.24s and 27.37s.
- Mathias delivered a strong double, finishing 4th in Triple Jump (9.93m) and 3rd in Long Jump (5.29m).
- Cecilia doubled up with the jumps as well, placing 3rd in the Triple Jump (9.81m) to add to her sprint medals.
Building Towards Nationals
For some athletes, these championships were about breaking barriers. For others, it was a stepping stone to December’s Chemist Warehouse Australian All Schools Championships in Adelaide (4–7 December 2025), where many of our squad will line up against the nation’s best.
But across every event, one theme shines through: FAST athletes continue to deliver results that reflect our philosophy of Running Excellence. This is not about one or two standout performers. It’s about depth across the squad, progress at every level, and the belief that with the right guidance and environment, young athletes can reach milestones that once felt out of reach.
Congratulations to every athlete who competed, supported teammates, and wore the FAST colours with pride. The journey continues — and the best is yet to come.
