FAST Running athletes delivered a strong set of performances at the 2025–26 Capital Athletics Combined Events Championships, held at Woden Park Athletics Field from 20–21 December 2025.
The championships provided an important end‑of‑year opportunity for athletes to test their versatility across multiple disciplines, rewarding all‑round athleticism, resilience, and competition skills developed throughout the season.
Across Little Athletics, junior and youth age groups, FAST‑aligned athletes demonstrated consistency, adaptability, and a willingness to embrace the challenges that combined events demand.
Girls Tetrathlon – U9 to U11
Anella Jukic – Girls U9 Tetrathlon
Anella finished second overall with 491 points, gaining valuable championship experience across the sprint, throws, jumps and endurance components of the event.
Maddison Pantos – Girls U10 Tetrathlon
Maddison placed fourth overall in the Girls U10 Tetrathlon with 629 points, showing particular strength in the shot put (6.29m) and long jump (3.71m).
Sophia Gye – Girls U10 Tetrathlon
Sophia finished eighth overall, scoring 514 points, and demonstrated solid endurance with a strong 800m performance.
Milla Golack – Girls U11 Tetrathlon
Milla delivered one of the standout performances of the championships, winning the Girls U11 Tetrathlon with an impressive 801 points. Her results were consistently strong across all events, including a fast 800m in 2:54.72, underlining her excellent all‑round development.
Nelum Ganesalingam – Girls U11 Tetrathlon
Nelum claimed second place overall with 751 points, excelling in the shot put (6.13m) and finishing strongly over 800m.
Izabella Jukic – Girls U11 Tetrathlon
Izabella finished seventh overall, gaining valuable experience across all four disciplines and continuing her steady progression as a multi‑event athlete.
Aria Jukic – Girls U11 Tetrathlon
Aria placed ninth overall, showing determination across the full program and contributing to a strong showing from the Jukic family across the championships.
Girls Pentathlon – U13
Freya Marshall – Girls U13 Pentathlon
Freya finished second overall in the Girls U13 Pentathlon with 1168 points, highlighted by a strong 200m (29.09) and consistent scoring across all five events.
Tindra Helgstedt – Girls U13 Pentathlon
Tindra secured third place overall with 1071 points, producing an excellent discus throw (24.69m) and demonstrating resilience across two demanding days of competition.
Boys Combined Events
Lennox de Moura – Boys U15 Heptathlon
Lennox competed strongly in the Boys U15 Heptathlon, finishing fifth overall with 2814 points. His performances across hurdles, throws, jumps, and the 1500m reflected developing strength and endurance, with the event providing a valuable learning experience at championship level.
Boys Tetrathlon – U9 & U10
Yuvain Yasvin Ariyadasa claimed first place in the Boys U9 Tetrathlon with 712 points, highlighted by a strong 800m finish.
Cyriac Joby won the Boys U10 Tetrathlon with 709 points, while Blake Murray Smith finished second overall with 683 points, demonstrating excellent balance across speed, strength, and endurance.
Boys Pentathlon – U12
Thivain Hasvin Ariyadasa delivered a standout performance to win the Boys U12 Pentathlon with 1220 points, showing particular strength in the high jump (1.34m) and a fast 800m in 2:51.01.
Additional Track & Field Events
Several FAST‑aligned athletes also contested individual track and field events across the weekend:
- Ellie B ran 1:03.60 in the 400m
- Bethany Wilson competed across the 60m, 100m and 200m sprints
- Thivain Ariyadasa recorded 29.96 in the 200m and 4.07m in the long jump
- Izabella Jukic claimed first place in the Girls 10–13 Triple Jump (7.04m) and placed in the long jump
- Aria Jukic finished second in the Girls 10–13 Triple Jump (6.90m) and won the Girls 9–13 High Jump (1.00m)
Celebrating All‑Round Development
The Combined Events Championships reward athletes who can adapt, persist, and perform across multiple disciplines — qualities that align strongly with FAST Running’s long‑term development philosophy.
Across two demanding days, athletes demonstrated versatility, resilience, and a willingness to embrace learning opportunities, laying strong foundations for future seasons.
