Summer Series: 7 January 2026

FAST Running

FAST Running athletes continued their early-season build at Capital Athletics Summer Series Meet No. 7, held at Woden Park on 7 January 2026. The meet provided another valuable opportunity for athletes to gain race exposure, test conditioning, and reinforce execution across track and field events.

As with all Summer Series competitions, the focus remained firmly on development — using racing as a tool to build confidence, resilience, and race intelligence ahead of the championship phase of the season.

Ellie B – 400m

Ellie contested the Mixed 400m, recording a time of 1:05.02. The run provided an important early-season benchmark as she continues to build race sharpness and strength over the one-lap event.

Chris Valzano – 400m & 800m

Chris enjoyed a strong double at Woden Park, competing across both the 400m and 800m.

In the Mixed 400m, he ran 56.85 seconds, demonstrating growing consistency and control through the race. Later in the evening, Chris stepped up to the Men’s 800m, where he finished with a time of 2:16.29.

The combination of events provided valuable aerobic and speed-endurance stimulus, supporting his broader development as a developing 400m athlete.

Izabella & Aria Jukic – 400m & Long Jump

Izabella and Aria Jukic both gained valuable competition experience across track and field events.

In the Mixed 400m, Izabella recorded 1:21.33, with Aria close behind in 1:22.60. Earlier in the program, both athletes also contested the Girls Under 14 Long Jump, with Izabella jumping 3.55m and Aria 3.32m.

Competing across multiple disciplines reflects a broad-based development approach, allowing young athletes to explore speed, endurance, and coordination within a supportive competition environment.

Consistent Racing, Long-Term Focus

The Summer Series continues to play a key role in FAST Running’s seasonal approach, offering athletes regular opportunities to race, learn, and adapt without the pressures associated with major championships.

By prioritising consistent competition, technical learning, and athlete wellbeing, FAST Running athletes are laying strong foundations for the demands of the ACT Championships and the remainder of the summer season.

Running Excellence is built through repetition, learning, and patience.
