FAST Running - Summer Series

The FAST Running squad closed out the Capital Athletics Twilight Series in spectacular fashion on Friday night, delivering standout performances across multiple events. With the Australian University Games and Australian Athletics Junior Championships fast approaching in April, our athletes are hitting peak form at just the right time.

Sprint Success Across the Board

In the 60m, Olivia Jose showed her explosive speed, finishing fourth in a rapid 8.05s, a great indicator of her strength heading into championship season. She backed it up in the 100m, clocking 12.79s, maintaining her consistency as she builds towards Nationals. Olivia enjoyed racing against Australian Olympic representative Angeline Blackburn. She has now broken 13s for the 100m in her last three races.

Thomas Madigan also impressed over the 100m, finishing third in 12.43s, before storming to victory in the 400m with a 53.24s performance, demonstrating his range and race execution. Both performances beating his previous bests in both events with the 400m another Woden Athletics Club Record (not yet ratified).

Rose Zillar Cajetan dominated the women’s sprints, securing first place in the 100m (13.21s) and a strong third-place finish in the 200m (27.69s). Her ability to maintain form through the longer sprints will be key in the coming weeks. Her 200m time was a new Personal Best.
