Innovation in Equipment – Built, Not Bought

FAST Running - Innovation

At FAST Running, innovation doesn’t always arrive in a branded box.

Sometimes it starts with timber, tools, and a belief that athletes deserve better.

Over the past year, we’ve quietly built a range of our own training equipment — including custom jump boxes designed specifically for our Long and Triple Jump athletes. Not because we couldn’t buy them. But because what we needed didn’t exist.

Built for Purpose

Commercial equipment is often generic.
Our athletes are not.

We needed boxes that:

  • Matched specific take-off angles
  • Allowed progressive stiffness exposure
  • Supported safe reintroduction post-injury
  • Integrated seamlessly into our technical models

So we designed and built them ourselves.

Every measurement, every edge, every surface had intent behind it.

That’s what high performance really is — attention to detail.

Innovation Is Not Always Technology

Yes, FAST uses timing systems, data capture, biomechanical review, and strength metrics.

But innovation isn’t just digital.

It’s the willingness to solve problems instead of working around them.

When Mathias required a long jump transformation year focused on biomechanics and tissue tolerance, we didn’t look for a shortcut.
We adjusted the environment.

When Brooklyn began pushing toward club record territory, we refined the tools supporting his elastic development.

When developing younger jumpers, we scaled equipment so progression matched growth — not ego.

Innovation at FAST means building systems that fit the athlete — not forcing the athlete to fit the system.

Craftsmanship Reflects Culture

There is something powerful about athletes training on equipment built by their coaching team.

It reinforces:

  • Ownership
  • Responsibility
  • Pride in preparation
  • Respect for process

The message is clear:

We don’t outsource standards.

We create them.

Community + High Performance

Our jump boxes are used by:

  • National finalists
  • ACT medalists
  • Developing juniors
  • Masters athletes refining technique

Same standards. Different stages.

That’s the FAST model — community and high performance operating together, not separately.

Running Excellence Extends to the Air

Despite our name, FAST Running has become one of the most consistent jumping programs in the region.

Records have fallen.
National qualifiers have emerged.
Athletes have grown — technically and personally.

Behind that progress are systems, attention to detail, and a willingness to innovate in ways that may never trend on social media — but absolutely change outcomes.

Innovation isn’t noise.

It’s craftsmanship.

And at FAST, we build excellence from the ground up.
