For FAST Track athlete Lauren Fiddy, progress hasn’t come from perfect conditions or single-sport focus. It’s come from commitment, adaptability, and a willingness to keep showing up — even while balancing two sporting passions.
At the latest Summer Series, Lauren delivered her strongest performances to date:
- 14.14 s – 100 m (PB)
- 29.63 s – 200 m (PB)
Both times were achieved in less than ideal conditions, reinforcing a trend that has quietly defined her past 12 months: consistent improvement, regardless of circumstance.
Steady Gains That Add Up
Back in September 2024, Lauren clocked:
- 14.82 s – 100 m
- 31.18 s – 200 m
As a developing footballer with growing interest in athletics, she was pleased — but not satisfied.
One year later, at the ACT Schools Track & Field Championships in September 2025, that intent to improve was clear:
- 14.25 s – 100 m
- 29.78 s – 200 m
Fast forward to summer, and she’s taken another step forward — dropping time again in both events and confirming that the work is translating to performance.
From September 2024 to now, Lauren has reduced her times by:
- 0.68 s in the 100 m
- 1.55 s in the 200 m
At 13 years of age, that’s meaningful, sustainable progress.
Balancing Two Passions
Juggling football and athletics isn’t easy — physically or mentally. Training loads, recovery, and focus all have to be managed carefully. Lauren’s ability to adapt to those demands is quickly becoming one of her greatest strengths.
Within the FAST Track environment, she’s learning how to train with purpose, move well, and compete with confidence — skills that benefit both sports.
Just as importantly, she’s learning patience.
Looking Ahead to 2026
Lauren now has her sights set on competing at her first Capital Athletics Championships in February 2026 — a milestone that reflects not just performance, but growing belief.
This summer, she has clear goals, structured support, and the right people around her to guide the journey. The focus isn’t rushing results — it’s continuing to build.
At FAST Track, development comes first.
Lauren Fiddy is proving that when commitment meets the right environment, progress follows.
And for this young athlete, the best is still to come.
