New to the Track? FAST is Where Potential Meets Performance

FAST Running - Young Adults

In your 20s, you might think it’s too late to start something new in sport—especially something as technical and competitive as sprinting. But at FAST Running, we’ve seen just how powerful the right coaching, environment, and mindset can be when it comes to uncovering your full athletic potential.

Whether you’re coming from football, rugby, soccer, netball, CrossFit, or no sport at all, you’ll find a clear pathway here—from building your foundation to hitting personal bests and even representing at national level competitions.

Take the story of Jordan, for example. A Queanbeyan local and former Monaro Panthers footballer, Jordan first came to FAST to improve his speed for football. Years of wear and tear from heavy training loads and injuries left him unsure of what his body could still do. But under the guidance of High Performance Coach Steve Dodt, Jordan began a new chapter in sprinting—one based on trust, smart programming, and a drive for continuous progress.

Fast-forward a season later and Jordan’s 200m time dropped from 23.57s to 22.71s, earning him a place on the ACT team for the NSW Athletics Open Championships.

What made the difference? Mentorship. High-performance training. A squad culture built on positivity and performance.

Training alongside elite sprinters like Vivian Williams (Commonwealth Games), university athletes like Jaimi-Lee and Alex, and even top footballers from the Brumbies and Raiders, Jordan—and many others—discovered that sprinting isn’t just for the “naturally fast.” It’s for anyone willing to show up, work smart, and trust the process.

At FAST, we believe in Running Excellence, no matter your background. We help you:

✅ Build a better running technique
✅ Improve your strength, speed and confidence
✅ Connect with athletes who lift you up
✅ Progress to the level you want—whether that’s school, state, or national championships

And we do more than coach. FAST offers real-world experiences for young adults—like work placements, volunteering, and mentorship in coaching, media, events, and leadership—all supported by Coach Steve Dodt and the wider FAST network.

So if you’re in your 20s and wondering whether it’s too late to get serious about sprinting… or to try something new in a performance environment that feels like family—we’re here to show you what’s possible.

Let’s find out how fast you can be.
Welcome to FAST.
