Pathways to Excellence: 15 Years of FAST Impact at School Sport ACT

FAST Running - All Schools

At FAST Running we celebrate every record, medal, and personal best — but what truly sets us apart is the story behind the results. For more than 15 years, FAST athletes have left their mark on the ACT Schools system, rewriting records and setting standards across sprints, jumps, throws, and middle distance. These aren’t isolated flashes of brilliance. They are the product of a pathway built on consistency, community, and a vision of Running Excellence that spans generations.

From FAST Kids clinics, where 7–11 year olds take their first strides in speed and agility, to FAST Track and Performance squads, where athletes hone their craft against the nation’s best, our programs are designed to grow with the athlete. Many of the names appearing on ACT record sheets today once stood nervously at a holiday clinic start line or learned relay baton skills for the first time at FAST Kids.

This longevity matters. Records at ACT School Sport level — from Belconnen to Tuggeranong to North Canberra — stretch back more than a decade. They are not simply the story of one athlete or one season; they are a testament to an environment where athletes are consistently nurtured, guided, and challenged. An environment where excellence is not a one-off, but a habit.

The philosophy is simple:

  • Pathways, not shortcuts — We coach for today and tomorrow, ensuring athletes develop the strength, resilience, and mindset to thrive long-term.
  • Community before medals — Laughter, support, and belonging build athletes who love the sport and stick with it.
  • Excellence at every level — From first-time competitors to state champions and national finalists, we invest the same care, expertise, and belief.

The result? Athletes like Frida, who progressed from a holiday Accelerate Clinic to FAST Kids to the national cross country stage; Daniel, who has turned raw talent into sub-11 sprint speed; and countless others whose names line ACT records year after year.

When we look at School Sport ACT, we don’t just see performances. We see a pathway proven over 15 years. A system that shows what happens when you combine vision, expertise, and belief in young people. This is Running Excellence — not a moment in time, but a lifetime of achievement.
