FAST Running Steps Up to Support Ginninderra Athletics Canberra Running Coach, January 19, 2025January 19, 2025 This week, the FAST Running sprint squad demonstrated the true spirit of community and collaboration by lending a hand to Ginninderra Athletics. With the first competition of the new year fast approaching, our athletes took time out of their training schedule to clean and organise the equipment shed at Charnwood Oval, ensuring everything was in top condition for the weekend’s Little Athletics meet. The shed, home to essential equipment like hurdles, discus, and tiny tots gear, had gathered some mid-season clutter. Understanding the importance of a smooth and welcoming start to the season for Ginninderra Athletics and its young athletes, the FAST Running team eagerly rolled up their sleeves to help out. Giving Back to the Sport We Love At FAST Running, we believe in more than just achieving personal bests on the track. Our squad is deeply committed to fostering a strong sense of community and giving back to the sport that has given us so much. Supporting Little Athletics programs, such as those run by Ginninderra Athletics, is one of the ways we uphold this commitment. Little Athletics serves as the foundation for so many aspiring athletes, offering them their first taste of competition and camaraderie in the sport. By helping to prepare for their big return after the Christmas holidays, we hope to inspire and support the next generation of sprinters, jumpers, and throwers. A Team Effort The cleanup was no small task, but our squad approached it with the same determination and teamwork they bring to their training sessions. From reorganizing racks of hurdles to ensuring the discus and shot put implements were easy to access, every member contributed. The results were not only a spotless shed but also a shared sense of accomplishment and pride. Supporting the Community Beyond the Track Our involvement with Ginninderra Athletics highlights our broader mission: to build connections, inspire young athletes, and strengthen the running and athletics community in Canberra. Little Athletics programs play a critical role in encouraging children to lead active and healthy lifestyles, and it’s a privilege for our squad to support their endeavors. As we head into another exciting year, we remain committed to not only chasing excellence on the track but also championing the values of teamwork, support, and community engagement. Here’s to a successful season for Ginninderra Athletics and all the Little Athletics programs in Canberra – may it be filled with fun, development, and plenty of personal bests!
