Soft sand workout Canberra Sprint Coach, May 7, 2024August 29, 2024 With the cooler weather now set in and winter fast approaching, sessions are adapting to the new training phase and FAST Running has returned to one of its favourite locations in North Canberra at the Lyneham Beach Volleyball Centre. The training adaption on the body by running in soft sand helps strengthen the leg muscles, particularly the calves, hamstrings, and glutes, which are crucial for sprinting. The ankles also benefit from the increased stabilisation from the challenge of running in sand. For more details on how training variability can improve your speed, speak with Canberra Sprint Coach, Steve Dodt.
