This week, FAST Running had the pleasure of welcoming Zahra, a visiting sprinter from Jakarta.
In Canberra for a short stay, Zahra was looking for a group of sprinters where she could continue her training while away from home. High-performing athletes understand that consistency matters — even when travel interrupts routine.
She reached out.
We said yes.
Training Doesn’t Stop When You Travel
For many athletes, being away from their regular training environment can be unsettling. Different facilities, unfamiliar faces, new coaching voices — it can feel disruptive.
At FAST Running, we see it differently.
Movement is universal.
Standards travel.
Athletes belong wherever they are willing to train with intent.
Zahra joined our sessions seamlessly — stepping into drills, acceleration work, and sprint efforts alongside athletes of varying ages and stages. What stood out wasn’t that she was visiting. It was that she was committed.
A Place for Like-Minded Athletes
FAST Running exists for athletes who value:
- Quality over shortcuts
- Structure with flexibility
- Coaching that listens
- A culture that supports
Whether someone is based in Canberra year-round, relocating later in the year, or simply passing through for a week, there is space for like-minded athletes within our programs.
We offer free trial sessions because we believe athletes should experience the environment before making decisions. It’s not about signing up quickly — it’s about finding the right fit.
From FAST Kids and FAST Accelerate through to FAST Performance and our Masters group, the structure is layered — but the culture is consistent.
Supportive coaches.
Seasoned athletes.
Standards without ego.
Community Beyond Borders
Athletics is global. Training environments should be welcoming.
Welcoming Zahra reminded us of something important:
FAST Running is not just a local squad. It is a community built on shared intent.
We are delighted that Zahra has decided to relocate to Canberra later this year and continue her training with FAST. We look forward to seeing her back on the track soon — not as a visitor, but as part of the FAST family.
FAST Running
Running excellence.
Wherever you’re from — and wherever you’re going.
